Description

It was hopping around in my backyard and my dog was trying to eat it. I still have to figure out what to do with it, but it seems nearly ready to fly - though it can only hop around at this point (I tried to get it to fly, but it couldn't really do it)
I think it probably lives in one of my neighbor's palm trees....but they're really tall.... I don't see any nests

EDIT:
Thank you! I got the name!

I've had to raise a baby mockingbird from near-death thanks to my dog. Raised him 'till he flew! This bird looks like it's a seed/nut eater, but I only know how to feed a baby mockingbird. I think they're easier because they will get used to you withing the second day and will be looking forward to seeing you.
Look up how to feed this bird and care for her, she most likely won't appreciate you for a while. Nothing like caring for a wild bird! :D I've also had to take care of an adult male brown-headed cowbird... he was a little tame around my brother and I but not as tame as the mockingbird we had, Ohanko. But we cared for them until they could fly. Make sure you have a small, shallow container for water in there and so that she can bathe herself and keep hydrated ;)
